VELVET REVOLVER

with ALICE IN CHAINS

Xcel Energy Center announced that Velvet Revolver's "2007 Reevolution Tour" with special guests Alice In Chains and Kill Hannah will rock Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday, August 29th at 7 p.m.

Velvet Revolver, often abbreviated to VR by fans, is a hard rock/post-grunge group with three former members of Guns N' Roses including Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum plus Scott Weiland, the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, and Dave Kushner from the 80s punk band Wasted Youth. The band's first hit, "Slither" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts. The album, "Contraband," went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Top-Selling Albums chart, Top Canadian Albums chart and Top Internet Albums chart.

Since then, VR has released three more singles: the ballad "Fall to Pieces", the hard-rocker "Dirty Little Thing", and "Come On Come In" which the band recorded for the movie Fantastic Four. "Fall to Pieces" has been remarkably successful not only on rock stations but also on modern music stations. The band is rumored to have declined an invitation to tour with KISS after learning that Poison would be a part of the bill, in an effort to distance themselves from being lumped in with bands from the '80s who had re-grouped.

Velvet Revolver is hitting the road in in support of their second album, "Libertad" which is Spanish for Freedom. The band has called the album more soulful and experimental than its first effort. The new album includes the tracks "She Builds Quick Machines," "The Last Fight," and "Get Out The Door." It has been announced that possibly 2 songs from Libertad ("She Builds Quick Machines" and either "Let It Roll" or "Get Out The Door") will be playable on the videogame Guitar Hero III.

This is the second tour for the legendary heavy metal band Alice In Chains after reforming last year. The band includes original members Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney as well as Mike Inez and Comes With The Fall's William DuVall. The group's most recent release, "The Essential Alice In Chains" is a two-disc compilation that features 28 of the band's greatest hits.

Chicago, Illinois based Kill Hannah is touring in support of its second album, "Until There's Nothing Left of Us," which was released in 2006.

This will be Velvet Revolver's second visit to Xcel Energy Center and it will be show that Twin Cities rockers will not want to miss.
