The "Modern King of Waltz", Andre Rieu, is coming to the Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. The Xcel will host the top classical artist with a full arena and standard end stage concert set-up.  

Andre Rieu was born in Holland in 1949 into a very musical family.  His father was a conductor, and most of his brothers and sisters are professional musicians. As a Dutch violinist virtuoso and conductor of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, Rieu has toured in countries all over the world and is considered an excellent conductor, a talented violinist, and a great showman.   Rieu was named the second Top Classical Artist by Billboard's Best of 2006, and he was also awarded the Top Classical Album for "Tuscany" and "Live in Dublin" plus Top Classical Crossover Album for "At The Movies." Overall, he has sold more than 22 million albums and CDs.
