The Minnesota Timberwolves, a professional basketball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a relatively young basketball team competing in the Northwest Division of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Minnesota Timberwolves franchise started in 1989, and was the first professional basketball team to return to the Twin Cities since the Minnesota Lakers left the area for Los Angeles in 1960. The Timberwolves came out of an NBA expansion that added four new teams into the league.

The first few season of Timberwolves basketball were struggles, though the T-Wolves fought back from hard odds to win some crucial games and create a Twin Cities fan following that helped them break the record of most NBA fans. 1995 marked an impressive season for the Minnesota Timberwolves who, gained Kevin Garnett in the draft. Most Minnesota Timberwolves fans will claim that Kevin Garnett was the best thing that happened to the Minnesota Timberwolves roster.

The Timberwolves started winning and began making changes, such as jersey, mascot image and playing surface at the Target Center that propelled them into success in the mid 1990's. After almost decade of relative success, the Minnesota Timberwolves were dealt a huge blow when Kevin Garnett was let go. However, new stars were added to the Minnesota Timberwolves roster and Wolves fans hopes are high for a rebuilding season that will help propel the Minnesota Timberwolves back towards the top of the professional basketball world.

The Timberwolves look consists of Blue, Black, Green, Silver and White. The Minnesota Timberwolves jerseys are always changing and evolving though in several past seasons, the Timberwolves looks has become a fiercer more intimidating look.
